In accordance with the The Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Korea on the Scientific and Technological Cooperation and the Work Plan for Support of Czech-Korea Joint Projects, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MEYS), and the Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea (MSIT) have decided to provide financial support and announce a Joint Call for research projects carried out by researchers from both countries.
The joint research shall focus on one of the main areas of cooperation is Bioscience, Chemical Materials and Digital.
Qualifying scientific applicants in this framework may receive research grants from MEYS and MSIT, respectively, according to the applicable national funding procedures, regulations, and the requirements as detailed in this Call.
The Republic of Korea (Korea) is a strategic partner of Germany, particularly in the field of scientific and technological cooperation (STC). Based on the 1986 agreement on S&T cooperation with Korea, cooperation in the fields of research, technology and innovation is to be further intensified.
This funding measure is part of the Federal Government's strategy for the internationalisation of science and research and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research's (BMBF) "International Cooperation" action plan. With this year's thematic focus on "Digital Technologies in Red Biotechnology" and "Artificial Intelligence in Biodiversity Research", the German-Korean cooperation addresses three missions of the BMBF's "Future Strategy for Research and Innovation" in particular.

Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) and the Centre for the Development
of Technology and Innovation E.P.E. (CDTI) have been designated as funding agencies to
manage a new joint top-down R&D Bilateral Programme, the Korea Spain Strategic
Programme (KSSP), to select and fund singular projects in mutually agreed topics.
This call for proposals under the KSSP aims to launch ambitious strategic joint R&D projects
of a high international standard between Korean and Spanish organizations. The selected
projects will be funded by KIAT in Korea and CDTI in Spain.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea (MOTIE) and the German Federal Ministry
for Economic Affairs and Clima Action (BMWK) intend to support joint German-Korean
research and development projects (R&D projects) in order to develop innovative products,
processes or technical services from all technology and application areas.
Funding will be available for R&D projects in which new products, services or processes with a
high market potential are developed and subsequently transformed into marketable products.
In Germany, funding is provided through the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM).
MOTIE (Coordinator: Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology - KIAT) and AiF Projekt
GmbH (ZIM project management agency on behalf of the BMWK) support the applicants in the
phase of submission of project proposals, in the evaluation and in the implementation phase.
KIAT and AiF Projekt GmbH will evaluate the submitted proposals and communicate the
results within 4 to 5 months after the call deadline.
